EARLVILLE – The Sherburne Music Theater Society will hold auditions for this summer's production of "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown" on Saturday and Monday in Earlville and Norwich.
This Saturday, April 20, auditions will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Earlville Opera House. On Monday, April 22, auditions will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the United Church of Christ in Norwich.
Directed by Mark Sands, the cast includes Charlie Brown, Linus, Schroeder, Lucy, Peppermint Patti, and Snoopy––three male actors, two women, and Snoopy can be male or female.
In order to audition, actors must be 17 years of age or older. Audition materials and more information are available by emailing Sands at msands.smts@gmail.com. Interested college students who are not in the area are invited to submit a video audition of the required materials by Monday, April 22.
Three performances of "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown" will be shown this summer, with both a matinee and evening performance on Saturday, July 20 and a matinee on Sunday, July 21.
The script is based on the 1967 production of "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown", which played 1,597 performances in New York City and starred Gary Burghoff, who played Radar O'Reilly on M*A*S*H.
The show is made up of vignettes from many of Charlie Schulz's most famous comic strips.
